Engineering Professors can now distribute Reserve materials Electronically
September 1995: For the past two quarters, electronic reserves were
tested on a trial basis. From this Fall quarter, it will be opened to all
Engineering Faculty, who are willing to participate in the electronic
reserves program. There are certain guidelines that are to be observed
in submitting electronic reserve materials, in order to facilitate
faster mouting of them on to the WWW network. Further details are
available in the Electronics Reserves web page.
Contact Dorothy Byers, Engineering
Librarian, if you are interested.
Computer Science Collection Moved
September 1995: The Computer Science library collection is now
availble in the Engineering Library. Previously, it was located in the
Math Library. This move was made in anticipation of the upcoming
Computer Science faculty move to the Engineering building.
Computer Science reserve materials will be in Math Library until the
faculty move is completed or until the corresponding faculty designates.
To make room for the unbound journals in Computer Science, all unbound
issues have been placed in Princeton files. All titles are in one
alphabetical sequence.
Good News to Artifical Intelligence philes
September 1995: AIDA CD-ROM is now available on the CD-ROM station

Computer Science Books and Journals Moved from Math Library to Engineering Library
June 27, 1995 Over the summer many Computer Science books and journals will be moved
from the Math Library to the Engineering Library. As a consequence,
engineering journal volumes older than 1986 will move to the mezzanine level.
Please bear with us as we make these changes.
Low Use / High Cost Journals will be Cancelled
June 27, 1995 The engineering journal budget is not keeping place with inflation as
costs rise due to increasing costs of paper, decreasing subscriptions, and
low valuation of the dollar against European currencies. Many journal
titles will be cancelled, titles which were previously identified as
candidates for cutting by the faculty. These titles are candidates
because of low use, high cost, and availability from external sources.
Always place a document request at the circulation desk for titles we
don't have.
Course Reserves are Now Available in the Web
June 27, 1995 Faculty wishing to place course reserves in electronic reserves on the
library homepage should contact dorothy.byers@uc.edu. The material must
not be copyrighted. Electronic text files are preferred, but individual pages
can be scanned if necessary. Scanned pages must be written in black ink with good
margins and clear, moderately-sized handwriting or font size (minimum 12 pt). Faculty
having their own homepages can link to the library homepage for reserve
material.
