GeoBASE Now Available

Springer e-books

For a year now, the library has not been purchasing Springer books, because OhioLINK has made them available through its Electronic Book Center at http://ebooks.ohiolink.edu/xtf-ebc/ .

There you find thousands of titles, many of which are not yet loaded into our local catalog. For example in Computer Science alone, there are over 1200 Springer titles in OhioLINK's Electronic Book Center.

Electronic book collections enable searching across all titles at once, and even searching within books. This is advantageous for engineering and computer science where so many books are really conference proceedings or other collections of papers, each with a unique title and author.

Just to complicate things, the library also provides access to some Springer e-books through Springer's own website at http://www.springerlink.com/books/ . Look for a green square to indicate material for which you can access the full text.
